Drive down memory lane with this celebration of 150 of world’s greatest cars

Did you know that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Deloren DMC-12? For those that aren’t familiar with their automobiles, the Deloren DMC-12 became famous as the ‘Docs’ car in the Back to the Future movies. This, along with 150 of the most incredible cars in motoring history are featured in The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Extraordinary Automobiles, the second book in an exciting new series from DK.

This unique compact guide celebrates the world of incredible cars, from the Benz Motorwagen to the Enzo Farrari. Structured chronologically, each automobile is evocatively illustrated and accompanied by a ‘spotters guide’ specification box.  Divided into six chapters, each section includes a selection of the featured period’s most incredible cars, from the first mass produced vehicles to the latest concept cars of today, including classics such as the Model-T Ford and the Volkswagen Beetle. Also included are a selection of one off designs such as the car used in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Lunar Rover and the Popemobile.

Chunky, retro and devilishly stylish with its natty landscape format - this book brims with technical bits and bobs, quotes and photographs. Not only is it the perfect gift for fathers day, it will also appeal to both car lovers and collectors of all ages.
