Briggs & Stratton’s Britain’s Best Park Competition is well underway and there is still time for you to nominate your local park for this prestigious award.

Briggs & Stratton’s business development manager Ian Small, said: “This competition aims to find the most attractive, well-maintained, accessible and community-friendly public spaces in the UK, and reward the hard work that goes into maintaining them.”

Parks are judged against a range of criteria including maintenance, community involvement, usability and environment. The award is open to any parks accessible to the public, ranging from village park spaces to country parks.





Nine regional finalists will be selected and a panel of respected judges will decide the overall winner. Prizes up for grabs include the coveted title of ‘Best Park in Britain’ and certificate to mark the achievement. In addition the winning park will receive a host of national and regional publicity.

The ultimate winner will go on to compete for the title of Europe’s Best Park also sponsored by Briggs & Stratton, where they will be up against parks located in Germany, France, Sweden, Poland and Italy.





Last Year saw Pollok Park in Scotland follow on to be crowned as Europe’s Best Park in a lavish ceremony celebrating the green open space and its facilities. Recipient of the award, Councillor Ruth Simpson said: “We are absolutely thrilled by this award. The Dear Green Place is celebrated for its parks and green spaces and this accolade simply confirms Pollok Country Park is a unique place of natural beauty.”
