Are you tied to one insurance company?

No. We are completely independent, so we are free to negotiate the policy that best meets your needs, from one of the country’s leading insurers.

Which insurance companies do you use?

We deal only with companies who are either members of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) or certain underwriters at Lloyds. This gives you and us, peace of mind.

Do you have a regulatory authority?

Insure4Retirement.co.uk is now authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), in relation to the sale and administration of non-investment insurance contracts. Our firm registration number is 307941. You can check these details at www.fsa.gov.uk/register or by contacting the FSA on 0845 606 1234.

What are my legal rights?

These are explained clearly on page 11 of this leaflet. If you do ever have cause to complain, we will make it as easy and painless as possible. You are free to choose the law applicable to this contract (or policy). Your policy will be governed by the law of England and Wales unless you and we have agreed otherwise.

How do I know you’ve understood what I want?

We record all our telephone calls, so we have an exact record of what you’ve asked us to do. This also enables us to improve our service to all our customers.

What other help can you give me?

We offer confidential eurolaw legal advice and domestic assistance. Simply call our helpline day or night, 365 days a year.

How do I switch my insurance to you?

Your quotation will come with a step-by-step guide to make it easy. In addition, we offer you up to £50 to cover the costs charged by your mortgage provider for switching a policy to us.

 




Standard Home Contents Insurance

Your home contents are safe with us.

Your policy will include:

i) Standard cover for your home contents up to £100,000.

ii) New for old cover, up to the value of £100,000.

(For clothing and household linen, we will make the relevant deductions for wear and tear.)

Are there any excesses?

i) The first £50 of each claim under your Standard Contents Cover unless an excess waiver or voluntary excess is stated under the relevant section on your policy schedule, or a compulsory excess has been imposed.



Our Standard Contents Insurance protects everything in your home that belongs to you personally.

The Standard Contents Insurance covers:

i) All your household goods will be covered against loss or damage caused by:

Riot, Malicious damage, Impact, Fire, Theft, Flood, Storm or water damage.

ii) In addition, your policy will cover you for accidental damage to:

Audio and visual equipment, DVD and Video Players or Recorders, Televisions, Fixed glass in furniture, Glass shelves, Personal Computers.

iii) Your policy will even cover you for:

The loss of your freezer contents to the value of £500 (caused by a rise or fall in temperature or contamination by refrigerant or refrigerant fumes).

iv) The loss of oil or metered water leaking from your central heating system.

(You will be covered for the damage this has caused, with the exception of pipe work, plus up to £1,000 to cover the loss itself.)

v) Temporary accommodation up to £10,000.

If you cannot live at your home while damage is being repaired.
