Rumours of Fleetwood Mac

Critically acclaimed and with Mick Fleetwood’s golden seal of approval – Rumours of Fleetwood Mac are back!

Back by popular demand and touring across April and May 2009 Flying Music proudly present Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac! A stunning live stage celebration concert performing the music of one of the world’s first super-groups Fleetwood Mac! With their meticulously crafted instrumentals and tight harmonies, this year’s tour once again brings the classic hits of the legendary Fleetwood Mac back to the masses. Rumours of Fleetwood Mac has perfected the legacy of blues, rock and pop classics that made the band the icons of the music industry that they are today.

Forming in New York in 1997, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac played their first gig for personal friend and record producer Brian Rawling, the master player behind great chart hits Cher’s “Do You Believe” and Ricky Martin’s “Private Emotion”. The vocal harmonies and musical arrangements of Mike Lennon(Keyboards & Vocals), Louise Rogan (Lead Vocals), Amanda Kostadinov (Lead Vocals & Keyboards), Ian Robinson (Bass), Alan Hughes (Guitars & Vocals) and Allan Cosgrove (Drums & Vocals) blend to create an evening of the finest musical entertainment.

With over 300 major theatre concerts behind them, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac have now performed to over 250,000 Mac fans worldwide and are recognised as the most authentic snapshot of rock super-group Fleetwood Mac! Once again, they are ready to wow audiences in cities across the UK, starting April 4th in Southport. In an immaculate trip through outstanding musicianship, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac performs the classic hits from the legendary band. From their inception in 1967 with Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood through to the critically acclaimed ‘Rumours’ era in the seventies with Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham and their continuing success in the eighties and nineties.

Rumours has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and is listed as one of the best-selling albums of all time. Released in 1977, the album reached number one in February of the same year and charted for 477 weeks in the UK. It marked the band’s 13th album and followed the release of the self-titled Fleetwood Mac in 1975. The inspiration for Rumours was said to have been the changes that the band were facing, in particularly the break ups between John and Chrissie McVie, and Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. ‘Go Your Own Way’ was the first single release from the album and was written by Buckingham. It reached the top 50 in the UK and remains as one of the bands biggest this to this day. Other huge hits from the album include ‘Dreams’, which was more recently covered by The Corrs, ‘You Make Loving Fun’, ‘Gold Dust Woman’ and ‘Don’t Stop’ to name a few.

So watch as this amazingly authentic group pay tribute to the breathtaking blues of Peter Green, the thunderous Mick Fleetwood grooves, the monster bass rifts of John McVie and the brilliant guitar work of Lindsey Buckingham – it’s going to be a tour to remember!

Terry Callier Celebrates 50 Years In Music + UK Tour

Terry Callier ‘Hidden Converastions

Release Date: 25th May

JAZZ LEGEND CELEBRATES 50 YEARS IN MUSIC

From Curtis Mayfield to Massive Attack

"A beautiful crystalline voice" Paul Weller

“ Working with Terry was an amazing experience and a dream come true” Beth Orton

“ Terry Callier has been a bit of a hero of mine, someone who has a lot of soul, a bit of jazz, spirit and some folk...” Tom Findlay (Groove Armada)

“He is like little pieces of magic” Zero 7

With a career now spanning five decades and a back catalogue of 14 albums - combined with regular sold out tours from Europe to Japan - the legendary artist Terry Callier returns with his eagerly awaited studio album ‘Hidden Conversations’, released on Mr Bongo on 25th May 2009 which celebrates his 50th anniversary as a musician. Not many artists get the opportunity to celebrate their 50th anniversary in the music business. His career includes collaborations with childhood friend and Chicago legend Curtis Mayfield to Nitin Sawhney, Koop, 4Hero, Beth Orton and Paul Weller to name a few.

With a rich history in music, Terry studied the piano at the age of three and started writing and making music from the age of 11. In the early 90’s Eddie Pillar re-released his ‘I Don''t Want to See Myself (Without You)’ single on his now defunct label Acid Jazz records which saw Callier’s career sky-rocket in the UK.

However, it almost never happened for Terry as Samuel Charters, the producer of his debut album ‘The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier’ ran off with the master tapes to live in a Mexican retreat. Three years later, Terry saw a copy of ‘The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier’ in a Chicago record shop - a release he didn’t know was coming out. The album was well received and heavily played on radio, which subsequently led to a tour with Etta James (one of the biggest stars around at the time) being offered to him. However, his mother would not allow him to go as she wanted him to concentrate on his schoolwork. Still, the release put Terry on the map.

‘Hidden Conversations’ is the follow up to Terry’s last album ‘Lookin Out’.

Following Terry’s performance at last year’s Meltdown Festival (curated by Massive Attack), Terry has once again hooked up with the British trip hop trio. On ‘Hidden Conversations’, Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja co-wrote ‘Wings’ and ‘John Lee Hooker’ and exclusively wrote ‘Live With Me’. The collaboration of Massive Attack’s haunting production and Terry’s beautiful, emotive vocals is quite simply, stunning.

On ‘Hidden Conversations’ all the other songs were written by Terry himself. This new electronic edge complements Terry’s style perfectly and offers a new direction that will appeal to fans both old and new. ‘Hidden Conversations’ is as innovative and compelling as ever.

Terry will be embarking on a UK tour from the end of May through to June taking in five UK dates, including London’s Union Chapel on the May 29th, his first performance in the capital since his critically acclaimed performance last March at the Jazz Café.

Terry Callier is, without question, one of the few remaining true musical legends of recent times and ‘Hidden Conversations’ only further confirms his legendary status.
