West of Giant’s Causeway, a precarious rope bridge straddles a deep, wide chasm to reach a tiny island.
A dizzying, lurching, white-knuckle walk 80 feet above the sea that’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland. The swaying bridge is erected each year by salmon fishers who net their wild Atlantic catchin the waters below. The island is known as The Rock in the Road - an obstacle in the way of migrating salmon - and the tradition of netting them there goes back over 300 years. |
A very popular tourist attraction. |
